I'm aware of that. I was just a bit lazy at the time and decided to use wikipedia. It does'nt really matter now because I passed my Nat Dip and am on my Degree at this point.

I hate the censorship.
I perfer Bakura's American voice to the Japanese one and I think Eric Stuart did a good job with Kaiba's (although the Japanese dub is amazing).

Duelist Kingdom voice, of course. Same with Kaiba. After DK, they made him sound more and more whiny and emotional. Ick!

In the Japanese version, Duelist Kingdom Bakura sounded like a not dangerous at all old lady. She died, so I can't hate her too much, but she certainly was underwhelming compared to maniacal cackler extraordinaire Satoshi.

I have no problem with Jonathan T Ross as Malik/Yami Marik, and Yugi/Atem/Yami played by Dan Green, but what they did to one of my favorite animes ever they should be maimed with a smelted iron pole.. One Piece was butchered so badly.. Zoro didn't even bleed for crying out loud >__<

In all honesty I don't hate 4kids.
Sometimes I feel certain edits are unnecessary and they can imply death or say someone is in a coma (which Joey clearly was in during the Battle City arc) at least instead of saying something like going into the shadow realm. I blame the FCC mostly. I did enjoy the English version of Yu-Gi-Oh none the less despite the criticisms toward it (which are understandable) and just most English dubs in general. Why do I hate it?
Because everybody does and I just tend to follow the masses. My people has a history of doing that... Joke aside, it's for the obvious reasons you all listed. What I find most impudent about the whole changing and cutting bit is that it didn't happen against better judgement, but on PURPOSE! Religious symbols: Bad Japanese names: Bad " references: Bad Breasts: Bad Logic: Bad Plot: Bad Bad, Bad, BAD!!! Because we want our children to grow up in My Little Pony Land, oblivious to conflicts and bad things and void of any sort of actual entertainment. T_T Plus, all of the above help fuel the prejudices against anime (either children's stuff or porn. in s ome cases child porn even) which have resulted in many a rather awkward moment at partys for me. well first of allthe edits they do it makes the story line messed up like adding romance where it isn't changing lines to completely the oppisite that they were. And for the censors stuff that takes away the work that was put into it.

I don't hate their yu gi oh dub. What I hate is that screwd up shaman king so baddly its enouth to put you to tears. It was one great manga even though it isn't very popular. But the anime is a joke thanks to 4kids.

I totally missed out on Shaman King.
It ran about twice here in Germany and was then cancelled, never to be heard of again. But since we get (almost) all the shônen anime via 4Kids I can relate... Wait, I forgot that, THAT'S also something I hate about 4Kids: The world-copyright thingy that leads to all the other western nations having to buy the previously 4Kids'd stuff. Can't they at least let every nation decide for themselves how to handle anime? It's really frustrating, because I know exactly what will happen if I drop RTL2 (our TV station responsible for most anime) a letter of complaint. They will reply: "We noticed and understand your dismay, but since we have little choice but to purchase from 4Kids, I'm afrid there is nothing we can do to help." :-/ And 4Kids probably won't give a rat's tail about some little fan from Europe acting up... *sigh* I watched YuGiOh 5Ds (aka the series where the words "traffic rules" lose their meaning) recently and - WTF??? Carly (one of the characters) fell out of a window on the 20th floor after losing a duel and crashes to the ground. After her -obvious- death she is revived by the Dark Signers (the evil dudes of the season). Do you know how 4Kids handled this scene? They let her fall into a violet mist/slime/whatever... and be transformed there. Heck, they even changed someones dialog into "What's this strange violet light?" while staring into their work of censorship. Honestly, are there REALLY no debts to which 4Kids won't sink? How stupid do they think their audience are??? The censoring isn't even GOOD! If you know the original it's almost insultingly bad. I'm not a fan of this show specifically but it's just another great example of how they manage to strip great scenes in anime of their dramatical effect. People don't die - they disappear, get kidnapped or simply take a long walk - thus rendering the personal vendetta of their siblings/friends entirely meaningless or overdone. Here in Germany we like to think of this phenomena as Pokito's Box (Pokito being the folks responsible for the syncho and screening of anime over here). All the characters that die in the original series, or whose fate is generally way steeper, and which only go missing in dub get stuck in this box. If they had a block on a network like Cartoon Network they would be able to get away with a lot more stuff. One really good example by having to abide by The FCC's rules is the way the cards look on Yu-Gi-Oh. All you see is the picture of the monster, the level, and attribute. Why is this? It's because of advertising rules. But look at the movie! It showed the way the cards were meant to look. Plus violence.This is because they were abiding by The MPAA's rules. Not the FCC's.
