I have only recently seen the movie (I'm british you know), and I loved it. But I also believe that it was FAR too short. The fact that the Crimson Dragon CHOSE to take them only 30 minutes back is very annoying. Also annoying is the fact that Jaden had the choice of summoning Winged Kuriboh (who he could have Lv 10'ed) but chose to give Yugi regular Kuriboh instead.
Also, the subbed version is far better (shooting spiral sonic ftw). |

Yeah (I'm british too!!) I know what you mean, many of thier usual cards could have won the battle alot quicker, not that I would want them to do that...that would make it shorter!!!

I actually was dissapointed with this movie.....mainly for the same reason everyone has mentioned. It was HORRIBLY short. One, I hate short movies. I dont care if the movie is 2 1/2 hours long.......if it is an EPICALLY AWESOME Ride, I will enjoy EVERY minute of it.
I wanted to see more Time traveling, more backstory, and well, really, just more sense. Paradox didnt have hardly a backstory worth even wasting time on making a movie about. It felt as though the writers soooo desperately wanted to throw something together for the 10th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! that they didnt care what they put in it. All we know is that Paradox came from a Post apocalyptic future where some-freakin'-how, Duel Monsters apparently destroyed the world alot more than World War 5 fought with only Hydrogen Bombs. His reasoning was half baked and his methods of going about it were less than intelligent. It was so half done, I thought it was purposely done that way and I was expecting the other half of his reasonings and story to come out at some point in the movie, even after he apparently died. Everything was rushed, thrown together, and spat out for long time fans to gobble up as "The Yu-Gi-Oh! movie of movies." I am not trying to hate or anything but I SERIOUSLY had HIGH HOPES for this movie. I had even wanted to plan a trip for my club to go see it at the closest theater to our campus. The only theater that was nearest to us that had it was in another city. Man. If everything would have went as planned and we got there just to see that.....I would instead be pissed right now. *sigh* I really just wanted to see one helluva awesome ride from this movie guys. I mean, come on, the three main protagonists together in one epic adventure? This was supposed to be "THE" movie of Yu-Gi-Oh! Even now I still romanticize over the fact that the three kings of games pool in their power to take down evil. I SOOOOOOOOOO wanted more from this. |

Yeah, you have a good point, I also want to know how yugioh breaks the laws of physics...time and time again, because before yugi joined jayden and yusei, paradox succeed and killed grampa, but when they go back in time and stop paradox from doing that......then grampa would not have been killed......so yugi would not have been dragged back with them....so paradox would win.....so yugi would be dragged back.....then wouldn't.....and so on and so on....oh I hate time paradoxes........ok thats either a coincidence or a clever idea....paradox....being a paradox.......

Oh. Wow. That IS a serious paradox! Now that you mentioned that, There actually should have been a second Yugi down there in the square!
OOOh! I smell a time paradox discussion brewing! I think that you might be able to take a person out of that timeline as their own particular instance and have the other of that newly created timeline still there..............unless, because he was only there due to the original timeline, as soon as it disrupts, Yugi should have dissapeared. But then again, its not a dramatic change soooooo....I dont think it should affect his existence in that diverted timeline... So in total, there would be two Yugi's, one down in the square with his grampa and one on the roof, whatever number of minutes before Pegasus's arrival. WAIT!!! I just thought of something!!! There are two Yugi's right? At the end of the battle, they are saying goodbye. The one for that initial timeline isnt even there! He's back at the game shop. If and when Yusei goes back to the future (<==== loves that phrase. wish there was more time travel) That particular one would cease to exist! Jaden's a different story because at the point in which he was ripped from his timeline, he no longer existed so plucking him right back in his timeline is like he was never gone. Yugi/Yami is a different story. What do you think happened to him??? |

Are we questioning logic in a YGO movie? Seriously? All of this relies on the theory that cards games can and do prevent the apocalypse.

I think LK is parodying the stereotypes of movie villains usually having good evil voices by giving them all the same moronic voice.

WHAT....NO LOGIC?????? WHAT HAS THIS PLANET COME TO!!!! Spock will not be happy.....But sevenstrike hero, I see what you mean, my point is the whole 'if they did what they did...they wouldn't of had to do it....so they wouldn't have....so they would have to....

Well I'm just being sarcastic because there's no LOGICAL possibility of the world coming to an end due to a card game.

Looks like this thread has finnaly become more active since I was away. About time. Anyway, I agree with Sevenstrike Hero. The movie could have been so much more, but for what it was... it's... okay. I didn't strongly dislike it but I did feel like something was missing when I watched it.
EDIT: I decided to add this picture of Jun. I really, really like it for some reason. Last edited by angel of darknezz; 01-12-2012 at 11:38 PM. |
