Watchmen...the only thing that kept me watching it all the way through was Rorschach(the ruthless masked vigilante)...other than that it was completely boring and annoying.

Twilight/New Moon, Transformers 2 (I loved the first one), Harry Potter... Yeah I'm not too fond of the mainstream stuff.

The Notebook.
Seriously, every girl I know loves it... except me. I watched it, didn't like it, didn't even cry when they were dying. That Allie chick was so damn whinny! |

^ Oh yes.
Everyone in my age group loves Superbad. My friend had me watch it, telling me it was one of the funniest movies she had ever seen. I felt very awkward sitting next to her as she pissed her pants in laughter and I was borderline crying from the stupidity of it all. |

I'm sure there are more haters than lovers for this film, but your hate is justified, they tore the book to shreads.
Avatar. It was a Pocahontas remake, with fern gully added to it. Nothing original to it. |

There should be a rule: Actually read the book and all sequels before making a movie based on it, and don't try to make the movie less sad than the book is so more children will like it. The golden compass wasn't written for children.

yep, and Eragon they took away all important aspects of the plot forbidding any sequals in the future.
Make the film faithful to the book. people want o see their favorite books in film version, not something completely irrelevent... |

Of course I disagree. The fact people sat through a shitload of Halloween movies waiting to see his face is what them good. The Rob Zombie shows his face and in one film raises the body count to more than the entire original series fucks it up. |

-Am I the only person who liked Golden Compass, ok so they changed the name, hoping to appeal to the yanks more and they screwed up the ending badly which stopped it being a good remake, but apart from those too (all be massive f-ups) they did not do that bad a bad job and the imagery in it was beautiful,
=sadly seeing as it tanked so badly, it is unlikely we will ever know if they really would have ended it properly or not, because won't be any follow ups, though I do honestly believe this film would not have done so badly if they not tried to kid friendly with the end, I mean that is reason kids loved to read Paulman, (spelt wrong I know) he did not treat them like emotional morons who could not handle the thought of bad things happening -As for Eragon, well that is easy, it was simply to detailed and long a book to make ever make good job of and what were they thinking, trying -Inkheart, never seen =Can I ask that this thread, now forbids the stating of Twilight, it is thread for films everyone loved but you, not films that everyone hates and just like to bash for the hell of it, yes it was woeful film, based on somewhat ropey set of books, but that is why basically no one likes it and the reason it holds no place in this thread Last edited by Fat1Fared; 06-10-2010 at 11:28 AM. |

as for Eragon, yes it was too detailed, but that does not mean they have to kill off the Ra'zac or miss out Joad. Granted the Joad arc would have added another 15-30 mins but the film was short anyway. They removed every aspect of the plot in which only needing to add that single part and keeping the ra'zac alive they needed to do. They can cut off the bit where they go to Dras-Leona and make Eragon realise he is no match for them. You know, speaking of putting fantasy book to film, I hope nobody except a true fan ever decides to create the Belgariad, and if they do keep it faithful to the plot, Otherwise they will have torn up and shreded both of my favorite series >:V |

I expected so much better yet it's probably the biggest disappointment in a film that I ever saw. |

Harry Potters 3 and on. Harry loses a little bit more of his nerdy, social awkwardness to the point that him breaking up with Cho Chang is no longer his fault but a CRUEL TWIST OF FATE OH THE HUMANITY. The fact that he fucks up his first ever date made me warm to him all the more in the books because it carries over his social anxieties of living his first 11 years of life in a fucking cupboard but the movies say FUCK THAT, HE'S A MAN'S MAN AND HE DOESN'T MAKE BAD DECISIONS!
While I didn't like the second book all that much, at least the movie stayed true to the characters. |
