Have you (or anyone else) ever accidently your game data?
I lost my flash drive with Metroid, Zelda, and some other games on it yesterday, which now motivates me to ask:
Have you ever finished/nearly finished a game only to have the data destroyed via device damage (internal or external), accidental erasure, etc? Last edited by ggbhtg; 01-07-2011 at 09:41 AM. |

My best friend deleted my fallout three file on his computer by accident when i was 99% done. All I had left was getting into the base.

I have a nephew and niece who I'm constantly redoing game files for, due to said pair accidentally deleting the files from the DS.
Eh 5 year olds. |

when playing through americas 10 most wanted, i lost on the last level. because this game has an autosave thing it was in my intrest to reset the console before the game autosaved. at one point i forgot about that and i was going to lose all my cool stuff or something, so i yanked out the memory card before it finished saving. lost all my data for that game.

I had to restart my Tekken 5 game data over multiple times due to a wonky memory card. Re-unlocking all the characters and such was getting tedious.

I had 2 files of Kingdom Hearts 2, one had the Ultima Keyblade and in the other it was impossible to get it (cause I wasted an Orichalcum+). They were both level 99 and I wanted to get rid off the one without the Ultima Keyblade. Sadly, I failed (badly) and ended up deleting the one with it. I was sad moments later.

Yes. I almost completed LEGO Star Wars II on the PSP, bought a new memory stick and transferred the contents of two older memory sticks onto it... forgetting that I had a LEGO Star Wars save on the older memory stick that was only 4% complete.

No, but I have had a very similar experience with a piece of artwork I was working on, and forgot to save. I was pretty much done, so I went to bed. my computer ran windows update while I was asleep, and I lost everything. :|

Off the top of my head:
- Accidentally overwrited a file with over 120 hours of playtime on Oblivion with a file that I was only experimenting with. - Deleted a file I'd invested significant time into on Pokemon Blue accidentally - I was testing to see if a cheat I heard of worked (that required a new file to be made (it actually did work, fyi)) and saved out of habit without realizing it. - Several emulator problems with save states not saving properly and whatnot. - My second gamecube memory card broke, losing save files for about 6 or 7 games. Can't remember which. Probably more, but those are all that come to mind right now... Last edited by Ohara; 02-17-2011 at 03:23 AM. |

On Final Fantasy Tactics A2 I had two files, one was okay, but cheated so it was just boring, and the one that I had done the story and 210 quests on that I had poured my heart and soul into, creating my perfect teams and units.
Guess which one I saved over with the other by accident ¬_¬ |
