This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

It's not about quantity, it's about quality.

Quick, we must slay the warlock. Get a hunter over here. Hunter > Warlock in WoW

Necromancers are better.

They fight for Ponies.

World War Z rocks, I read a bit but it was my brother's gift so I had to lose it, but still such a great book. The humans who act like zombies is very chilly, could see that happening for real.

As for an outbreak in my local area. Firstly, I would be surprised about zombies popping up, but I would make sure I barricade the back door (As it's largely glass, a zombie could break through that). I would grab the shotgun as the topic poster mentioned (We don't have one, being in England and all, but for the sake of argument) and use my mobile phone to contact as many people as I can. Regardless of whether I make contact or not, I would have to stock up as much as I can on food and water, and be ready with an escape plan. Take only the essentials.

Once that is sorted, I would go up to the bedroom, where outside the windows is the roof to an extension we made many years ago. This allows me access to some of the rooftops, and so I would proceed along them until I get to view the streets. If they are full of zombies, that way will not be an option, and so sticking to the rooftops will be my only option. Eventually however the streets will have to be accessed, so make sure a quiet street is chosen, and stay in the middle of the road, as space will be provided should zombies head my way, but I would have to move quickly.

If contact with friends and family fails, I will be on my own. In this case I would seek to find more supplies at a nearby Iceland store, before proceeding to move to out of the city, a large vehicle may be secured, but walking would be more up my alley. Out of London, a place with fresh water would be ace, but however as a human isolation cannot be permanent, movement will be required until I can get to a place with a large human population that has mounted a defence against the zombies, that would be my best chance for survival, with family and friends or without them. And I would have to be sure that no-one I know gets infected, a mercy killing would have to be done, easy sounding on a message board, but in reality highly traumatic.

Wha'd y'a fink? <img src='/images/emoticons/smiley7.png'>

Easy answer: unleash a horde of mutant death watch beetles to devour the zombies until they're bare bone. Then sic the dogs on 'em.

If you read "The zombie survival guide" (and if Max Brooks is right) the you would've know that your plan wouldn't work

I'm screwed.
I have an 18% chance of survival and
I'm the type that goes in groups and screams her head off when there are zombies!

Why not? Failing that, blast them with some really strong acid.

Well animals dont eat zombies-.supossly -....and there's also lots of cons when using acid, like "Where are you going to get lots of it?" and how hard it is to handle

I have the solution! I breed Xenomorphs! They have acid for blood, so we have a good supply of Acid!
Xellos: But what about when they get out of hand?
Then I'll breed Predators!
Xellos: <facepalm>

Plus, the bug idea is more likely to work than you think. Vertebrates, yes, they like fresh meat, but Bugs, they tend to be fine with rotting food. Vultures would also be pretty good defence against Zombies too.

Funnily enough, I did play AvP 2 on PC.

More funnily enough, I now work on the Company who made AvP 1.

And even more funnily enough....

(and no, I'm not working on it myself, though I can easily look over another's shoulder and see "Ooooo... ... That looks pretty good for a PSP game.... though this all looks familiar...". And yeah, I did work on that game....)

Oh wait, you were talking about the New one on the PSP, weren't you?

But anyway, Zombies....

And games....

Left 4 Dead looks fun, when it comes out, we should test to see how well we do in surviving in that game....

Why would I talk about that potential piece of shit on a shit sandwich?

I mean the one for the PC. I still play it and its better than most FPS out.

I played AvP in my really crappy old comp, everything moved too fast and i couldn see anything. The only time i killed something in that game was when i shot my granade luncher next to a wall and killed an Aline....along with myself XD.
But in the zombie/game topic: RE5 looks pretty good

lol You are probably one of the people I yell at because you caused lag. That really screws my game up specially when I depend on my Sniper rifle not getting lag shots.

Anyways,I have to get Xbox Live so I can really play Left 4 Dead.

4 player(Human or computer controlled) Zombie slaughtering fest. Its for PC too. Hordes and Hordes of zombies that run, jump, and just pretty much overwhelm the people. Supposedly great AI and a AI watcher that coordinates all the zombies to act to how you are playing. Play as Humans or as 4 Zombie boss types. Its not a run and gun type but a Run for your life and shoot back at the 50 zombies coming at you type.....yeah.

I wouldn't count the PSP AvP game just yet. I haven't played it, but I have worked with the Publishers behind it, Sierra, before, and unlike some publishers, they're actually a pleasure to work with. They give their developers this little thing called Freedom, at least it felt that way, specially compared to a certain other Publishers So it still has a chance to be at least some fun...

Of course, all of this is moot point to me, since my PSP can't read UMDs anymore... stopped doing so before the first year was up (hey that's about a year I've not had a PSP which can read games... meh). And that the actual machine is pretty crappy anyway. And don't laugh at me for getting a PSP. The first game I ever worked on was a PSP title, so I wanted to be able to play it when I got my free copy.

And hell yeah, RE5 is for 360. There is not much reason to go for a PS3. Unless it is going to kill the zombies for you or something...

Of course, before Left 4 Dead comes out, we'll be able to test our skills at survival against Flood Zombies when Halo3 comes out with its 4 player Co-Op...

I hope this is the start of a new age of Online Co-Ops, that will lead to MMO Action titles that are pretty much play like a single player Story game. And More Zombies... vritual Zombies though.
