But I also don't think that she was sooo dumb in the dub either. I have the impression that the fandom made her the silly friendship cheerleader. It's true that 4kids 'fucked' her character up, but they did it with every one and to be honest I dislike the 4kids Kaiba version more than what they did with Tea.
And the manga is another class. I love the manga. Everything seems so 'well' developed.

Well yeah I agree with 4kids messed everyone up when they dubbed it and the fandom really did make her into a friendship cheerleader but I didn't like hearing her friendship speeches almost everytime she's in the episode.

But I do like her sometimes in the dub when she actually dueled, she was pretty good :)

But I can see why so many people dislike her, even if I can't understand it. But a lot of fans want to see hot bishies and Tea, who's one of the few better developed female characters, are disturbing their yaoi fantasies.
The duel against Mai in DK was crack, but the one against Crump was ok.
What I disliked about the YGO anime in general is that friendship seems to have a claim to absoluteness. Yes, friendship is important, but there're different kinds of friendship and it's fine that the gang thinks that their friendship is sooo special, but I don't think it's right to blame Kaiba for not understanding them. He has Mokuba. There's a nice scene in the manga when Kaiba tells Yami that he found the answer and that he will fight for what he almost lost. I don't think that Kaiba's love for Mokuba is less worth than Yuugis trust into his friends.

Really? Well yeah I guess they have more friendship speeches than her. I mostly counted hers because she's the only girl in the entire group.

Best thing about my pairings is that Tea doesn't really talk to the characters often but sometimes I can see her and Ryo together, not all the time but sometimes or I can see him and Serenity.

Yeah but I think they were trying to go on Kazuki's theme of friendship which he wanted to do for the series. I just think they went to far with the main characters friendship and didn't branch out to everyone elses

I have no idea what to think about Serenity, really. She's one of those character who are just there.

I love their awkward bromance and sometimes I just can't get enough, but I also start to like the idea of Rivalshipping and since I'm not the biggest fan of 'The Yamis have their own bodies now', I would 'like' to see Kaiba and Yuugi. It's all head canon of course ;)

Thank you! I thought the same thing. It was like a clique. They forgot that Ryou was part of their group until the end. He didn't hang out with them as much because of the spirit of the Ring, but he was there. In the anime, I guess they didn't want it that way or the fact that KT owned the character outright so they couldn't use Ryou or Bakura for the filler arcs. I would have loved to see an alternate to the DOMA arc where Bakura plays both sides. It would have been more interesting that way. He would have used Dartz and then killed him and his henchmen.

I haven't wrote him in a heterosexual pairing so far, well I haven't wrote him in any pairing except Prideshipping and they haven't done something more sexual then kissing till now and the fic isn't about becoming a pairing, it's more about finding oneself... so I write Kaiba as... Kaiba.
Seriously that's why I like to write for younger Kaiba. No shippings!
