This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

It's got nothing to do with the taste at all. I dislike alcohol because of what it does to people, not because of what it tastes like.

One drink leads to another sooner or later. Have none, and you can't be encouraged to have 'just one more'.

Not necessarily true, there are many, many responsible drinkers. A single tequila bottle lasts me years. You just need to be aware of your risk for bad behavior.

Of course, but theres a lot more irresponsible drinkers than responsible ones. Especially in my age group. And I have no interest in taking part in that community.

Not always. I'm usually fine with just one. Two tops.

Drinking is at its worst among really young adults and teenagers.

I just don't think that it's fair to damn something just because some people choose to abuse it. You could apply that sort of logic to a lot of things in life and it wouldn't be taken very well.

If that's true, that's a lot of people dying just because they don't like the way they look. :/

Perhaps, but there's a difference between 'some people' and 'the majority of people I know'. When it gets to that point you start to lose all hope.

Oh no of course not.

But they specifically said cosmetic surgery, which is different from reconstructive plastic surgery.

And there is some plastic surgery that is technically deemed as "cosmetic" that has a reason to happen besides just making it look better (breast reduction, for example, can be done because of a bad back, or varicose veins can be taken care of before they can potentially become a problem).

The problem isn't the alcohol, though. It's that the people that you know choose to be irresponsible with it, and don't care enough about the consequences to think twice before drinking too much.

Or maybe its society glamorising the use of alcohol as pleasurable and even desirable, with potential rewards of social or sexual nature. It may not be a full choice on their part but rather what they are taught to do and enjoy by a society of intoxication.

I'm just tired of all the shit that's caused that has it's roots in alcohol. I'm normally a fairly liberal person but alcohol is one thing I wish we could do away with. I cannot see a single positive usage for alcohol except as an addition to some meals. Everything else is either drinking to socialise, which you can easily do with less harmful drinks, or drinking to get wasted, in which case you're a twat.

I think that's a fair analysis of modern human nature in relation to high alcohol intake.

I do understand what you are saying. I think that if I saw people I know and love being so negatively influenced by alcohol I would want it gone too. But it's never going to go away - the US tried prohibition almost 100 years ago and that failed really, really hard. I doubt that it'll work anywhere else.

I wouldn't even say that alcohol was the root of the problem, either. It probably goes a lot deeper than that. It has something to do with their motivation for drinking lots of alcohol in the first place. If they could feel like they could accomplish whatever they wanted to do without alcohol, it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Human motivation and alcohol could coexist without alcohol hurting the human.

So... I was just level grinding in Bravely Default when a special move somehow causes my game to freeze up. I've used that particular special move in other places on the same type of enemy without any problem.
