The candy reference was probably to episode 1 of Cr@psule monsters when Tristan and Tea stepped on the map because they were told there was candy.

It's Sam RAIMI and the referance is to the fact that he directed Army of Darkness and the beggining of it has the main caracter falling from the sky so I think that's the message that LK was trying to get accross to Evil Dead fans
